Our History

Established in 1986, by founder George W. Slipp, Peace Bridge Duty Free is one of the first land border shops in Ontario. For over 30 years it has been well known for its extensive lines of luxury brands and products. The 14,000 square foot store serves US-bound traffic at the second busiest Canada-US crossing point with approximately 5.5 million vehicles crossing annually.

Over the years, Peace Bridge Duty Free has won many prestigious awards for its efforts in marketing and sales and has been an industry leader for many innovative Duty Free initiatives. The Frontier Duty Free Association (FDFA) awarded Peace Bridge Duty Free its Best Marketing Award in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, and 2013 and its Best New Idea Award in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2013, and 2014. Over the years, Peace Bridge Duty Free has welcomed many dignitaries, politicians and celebrities. Canadian actor and comedian, Dan Aykroyd even held an in-store signing for the launch of his Crystal Head vodka.
